Benefit

20% discount on electricity usage during off-peak hours (10pm – 8am) every day

Customers enrolled in the OPTR scheme will enjoy a 20% discount on electricity usage during off-peak hours (10.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m.) every day if their load factor for the month is greater than their 6 months average load factor. Visit a Customer Service Centre near you and sign up today!

How This Affects Your Business

OPTR scheme supports customers that operate between 8am to 10pm daily to extend their business and operating hours and thus enjoy a 20% discount on all units consumed between 10pm to 8am if their load factor for the month is greater than their 6 months average load factor. With the 20% discount applied to electricity usage during those hours, you stand to enjoy significant savings in your monthly electricity bill.

Eligibility For Discount

You are eligible to enjoy 20% discount on all units consumed between 10pm to 8am if:

  • The monthly Load Factor is greater than the Average Load Factor (ALF) over six (6) months period. The ALF is fixed based on 6 months average load factor prior to change of meter date. For the month where the load factor is less that the fixed ALF, customers will not be eligible for the discount.
  • Load factor refers to the ratio of the average energy consumption in kWh (for a certain period) to Maximum peak requirement for a similar period.

You have a Load Factor that’s higher than average in the last 6 months.

Load factor = Total energy consumption in kWh for a certain period
(Maximum demand x total hours) for a certain period



You do not have an outstanding amount not more than the total deposit/bank guarantee paid. Otherwise this outstanding amount must be settled before applying.
