“Domestic Consumer” means a consumer occupying a private dwelling, which is not used as a hotel, boarding house or used for the purpose of carrying out any form of business, trade, professional activities or services.

The Electricity Supply Act allows TNB to collect a deposit of (2) month of your estimated electricity usage. This amount is calculated based on the an average 6 months of customer's electricity usage.
Deposit Interest
Simple interest calculation is paid on customer’s cash deposit as a credit to the account once per-year. Commencing January 1, 2017, deposit interest will be accumulated and reflected in customer’s bill as total deposit. (Annual interest rate for deposit amount is 2.5%).
For Example:
Total Cash Deposit as of 31 December 2016: RM1,000
Annual Rebates Received: RM1,000 X 2.5% = RM25.00
Total Deposit (1st January 2017 - 31st December 2017): RM1,000 + RM25.00 = RM1,025
Total Cash Deposit as of 31 December 2017: RM1,025
Annual Rebates Received: RM1,025 X 2.5% = RM25.62
Total Deposit (1st January 2018 - 31st December 2018): RM1,025 + RM25.62 = RM1,051
TNB will refund the
excess deposit upon customer’s request
(if customer get excessive based on average 6 months consumption)
You are required to pay the
additional deposit within
a grace period
Payment can be made at the nearest Pusat Khidmat Pelanggan TNB or any one stop collection agencies
The deposit will be refunded if you terminate or close the existing TNB account after deducting any outstanding amount (if any).
