Following the Government’s announcement on 17 September 2026, the electricity bill protection threshold for domestic customers has been raised from 600 kWh to 800 kWh per month.

This expanded protection applies to electricity consumption from 1 September until 31 December 2026. Domestic customers consuming 800 kWh and below per month will enjoy the following exemptions:

• Automatic Fuel Adjustment (AFA)
• Retail Charge
• Service Tax

More than 8 million customers, representing up to 90% of TNB’s domestic customers will benefit from the expanded protection. For September 2026 consumption, the applicable adjustment will be credited in customers’ October 2026 electricity bills.
