Sinaran Merdeka Incentive 2026

In celebration of Malaysia’s 69th National Day, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) remains committed to honouring the nation’s independence by continuing its support through the Sinaran Merdeka Incentive, specially offered to customers engaged in commercial activities. First introduced in 2000, this annual initiative encourages eligible customers to illuminate their buildings and surrounding areas with decorative lighting, fostering a vibrant and patriotic atmosphere throughout the Merdeka season.


Eligibility Criteria

  1. Customers must be registered under Non-Domestic Low Voltage General or ToU tariffs, or Non-Domestic Medium Voltage General or ToU tariffs, and operate commercial activities only - such as skyscrapers, office buildings, commercial complexes, shopping malls, hotels, and petrol stations.
  2. Customer's electricity supply service started before 1 August 2025 and have received at least one bill with actual meter reading in either May, June, or July 2026.
  3. Applications for the Sinaran Merdeka Incentive 2026 will be open from 15 July 2026 until 15 September 2026. Customers may apply online via the myTNB Portal or visit the nearest Kedai Tenaga.


Incentive Period and Rates

  1. This incentive is offered for a two-month electricity usage period, from 1 August 2026 to 30 September 2026.
  2. The Sinaran Merdeka Incentive is applicable to increased electricity consumption that exceeds the average consumption over the previous three months. This average is calculated based on electricity usage or billed consumption in May, June, and July 2026.
  3. The Sinaran Merdeka Incentive rates are as follows:

  4. Customers who are eligible for the Sinaran Merdeka Incentive will receive the rebate as a one-time adjustment in their October 2026 bill, reflected as “Sinaran Merdeka Incentive”.
